West Cheshire PTC – Podcast launch

A group of Community Commissioners from West Cheshire Poverty Truth Network sit together at a table recording their first podcast.

West Cheshire has held two Poverty Truth Commissions and are now firmly involved in the embedding phase of their work. Here their Community Inspirers, the term that they use for Community Commissioners, share a little bit about an exciting, new podcast which they have recently launched.

West Cheshire Community Inspirers (Community Commissioners) have been keeping themselves busy working on their brand-new podcast ‘Inspiring Chats for Change.’ It’s all about how talking and listening to people with lived and living experience of poverty can help us understand what needs to change and how we can work together to make things better.

Community Inspirers and the Tackling Poverty team have worked together as a production team to learn all about podcasts. We’ve taken on every part of the process, from planning conversations and writing interview questions to learning how to record, edit, and promote a podcast. The result is a series of episodes that brings real voices and experiences to the forefront.

What to expect…

In our first episode, we meet Tyra whose journey began when she came along to a PTC meeting with her mum. At first, she just listened but over time she became more involved, built her confidence, and began to speak up about things that matter to her, and now she uses those skills to empower others.

This podcast is for anyone who wants to learn more about how living wisdom can lead to change. It’s also for people who are going through tough times and want to hear stories that offer hope and support.

Listen to the episode on Spotify here or search Inspiring Chats for Change on your favourite podcast app, and keep an eye out for a future episode featuring one of our Poverty Truth Network colleagues! We hope you’ll listen, share, and feel inspired.
