This week is Challenge Poverty Week, a time when people in power are encouraged to listen attentively to the wisdom of people facing the struggle against poverty and learn from the experiences of people taking steps to end poverty.
Poverty Truth Network is part of a grassroots movement contributing letters to the Prime Minister. The ‘Dear Prime Minister’ letter series organised by Let’s End Poverty, features 15 letters written by people struggling against poverty, urging Sir Keir Starmer to work with those affected to develop long-term solutions.
Three Commissioners from the Poverty Truth Network have contributed letters to this collection which was delivered to the Prime Minister on the 15th October.
The first letter is jointly written by Karen and Andy, two Commissioners from Lancashire (see pg 10). The second letter is written by Carrie, a Commissioner from Bournemouth, Christchruch & Poole PTC (see pg 19)
If you would like to take action and join those writing to the Prime Minister, you can order postcards from Let’s End Poverty.
